the weight of silence

when Antonia went back to the house to get a pillow for Ben and a few things for Calli. she had no idea that martin was waiting outside by her shed with a gun. but he wasn't going to to hurt Antonia, he was waiting for Griff to come. Antonia switched on the light that lights up the patio. she goes out the door and starts walking toward the woods. martin grabs her elbow and pulls her to him. he told her that he saw Griff at the tree line. they sit there and wait. they had no idea that Griff was behind them. he yells furiously at Antonia " your going to shoot me!". then martin tries to protect Antonia, but Griff grabs the gun. he pulls the trigger but it shoots toward the ground. then he hits martin in the head with it and grabs Antonia and takes off into the woods. when they get far in he puts her down. Antonia and Griff don't know that Louis is right behind him. when they get close one of his men shoots Griff because he has Antonia pined up against the tree. when Griff falls to the ground everything is silent. i can see martin sitting outside of the shed. i hear Antonia's voice, scared and nervous. when Griff comes up behind them, i can see and feel his anger. the anger in martins voice and eyes. the fear and anger in Antonia's face.

 in the end of the book everybody finds out who did it. it wasn't a gut who was talked about quite often. it was a guy who got to know a little bit about Petra. he knew her from her dads work. he was named lucky. he did horrible things to Petra. Petra followed him thinking it was Griff and Calli out for a walk. he got her in his trap, she did what she could to get out of it. but she couldn't. they arrested him. took him to jail. a few years later Calli, Ben, and Antonia still lived in the same house. but Petra and her family moved away. Calli was a little said about it but she couldn't blame them from what happened. i can connect it to the world because around the world kids Calli and Petra's age are abducted. they are beaten and sometimes rapped. they are almost always left to die somewhere where no one can find them.

Calli found Louis, Antonia, and martin. Calli ran right to Antonia, she surprised everyone when she said her brothers name Ben. Louis called an ambulance. Louis asked Calli a bunch of questions. one of them was, is Petra at the bluff. all Calli could do was shake her head yes. when she did that martin took off to the bluff with Louis trying to stop him, but eventually just went with him. when they got to the top of the bluff, all martin and Louis saw was Bean over Petra with a stick. not trying to hurt Petra but trying to protect her from more hurt the she needed. martin was out ranged, he tackled Ben and Louis ran to Petra and got martin off of Ben. i could see Ben standing over Petra, martin going in for the tackle and the loud thud of Ben and martin hitting the ground.

today i read that Calli found Petra's necklace. when she went farther she found Petra. Calli's dad was standing over her. Griff tried to get Calli when Ben and put himself between Griff and Calli. Calli had found the necklace but she also saw Petra's underwear on the ground not far beyond where she found the necklace. Griff tried to get by but Ben was a lot stronger then he used to be.when Ben pushed Griff back he turned toward Calli and told her to get Petra help. Petra was hurt bad and they all new it. i can see the surprise in Griff's face when Ben pushed him back. i can see the anger in Ben's face, and the terrified face of Calli who only wanted to help her friend Petra.

I read that antonias calli's mom fell down the stairs when she was pregnant. but she didn't fall, calli's dad griff, pushed her down the stairs. Calli was crying. after griff out Antonia on the couch, he went over to calli and wispered in her ear if you dont stop talking the baby will die and it will be your falt, or something along the lines of that. that is why calli stops talking. i read that antonia's mom died of breast cancer. i can conect that to my life because my grandmother died of breast cancer.

I read that Kyle attacked Wanda while she was washing up. She heard someone sat Wanda and she thought it was Ian. She said she was done and she would be right out. But then when she saw him standing in the door way she say that it was Kyle. She hides in a little corner in the wash area. Melanie was yelling in her head to pick up a rock to throw. She through the rock at the wall. When she heard the water splash she new Kyle was in the water. She went towards it and he jumped up out of the water and pulled her in. he grabbed her by her calf, he dug into the flesh. He grabbed her hair and put her head under, trying to drown her. He picked her up out of the water. She got on his back and locked her fingers in his hair. When he tried to get her off, so he jumped. The floor started shaking, and then the floor blew out. Kyle and Wanda fell. Wanda got onto the none broken floor and grabbed Kyle. She tried to pull him up but he was too heavy. She yelled for help. Ian was the first one to show. He went and grabbed Kyle’s arm. He told Wanda to go around to the stable side of the floor. When he pulled Kyle up. He asked what she and Kyle where doing by the edge. Wanda said it was nothing. When Ian asked if Kyle tried to kill her she denied it. He new she was lying but she still didn’t say what he did. Ian picked her up because she could walk with her calf like the way it was. When they got to doc, Ian told Jeb to get a few people to get Kyle. They went off and Ian explained that Kyle “didn’t” attack her and that it was her felt. When they got Kyle to doc he was still out cold. Doc walked over and poured water on his head. Jared went between wand and Kyle. Jared lunged at Kyle and punched him in the face. Doc said that was unnecessary but Jared said it made him feel better. Wanda sat next to Wes, she said her goodbyes to him and then he was gone. Wanda felt a pinch in her left arm. Then it went black, Melanie said in wand’s head, “morphine”. I can visualize Kyle in the doorway of the pitch-black washroom. When Kyle took a hold of Wanda’s leg I could hear the scream in my ears. I saw the floor blackout in an instant. Wanda yelling for help, her holding on to Kyle for his life even though he tried to kill her.

the host

i read that the wanderer host is still fighting her. so her comforter told might want to her a new host. the seeker goes and finds her. the seeker told the wanderer that she got permission to take Melanie's body so she could get her information that she needs. the wanderer decides that she is going to go find uncle Jeb's hind out. instead of going to Tucson to See her old healer. the wanderer was mad about what the seeker said to her, that is part of the reason she wants to find Jared and Jamie. i would be pretty mad if someone came up to me and said I'm going to tale your body because i got permission to.

The Host

today i read that Melanie and the wanderer found uncle Jebs hide out in the wilderness. when uncle Jeb found her, he gave her water. when she got to there hide out she found herself face to face with the possible last 8 people on earth. when Melanie and the wanderer say Jared Melanie forced her body( even though she is just a thought in her head.) up and they staggered toward Jared. when they got close to Jared, he raised his hand and smacked her across the face. they went flying back. when she woke she was in a small space. she didn't know anyone was guarding her till she heard kyle and Ian come down the hall. then she heard Jared's voice. when kyle tarted attacking Jared, Melanie jumped out of the little hole in her cell and went in between kyle and Jared. kyle pushed her out of the way and she stumbled a few feet back. kyle told Ian to finish the thing. Ian switched his grip from her arms to her neck. they couldn't breath. that's when Jared  came running at her with his fist ready. Melanie and the wanderer braced them self for the blow. but they heard it pass her head Punch Ian. i can visualize the fight part with kyle, Ian, Melanie, and the wanderer.

i am reading the host i have read that a girl was captured. she has something inside her that is called a wanderer. there is a seeker and a healer. the seeker wants to know something a memory of some sort. in the first chapter in the book she talks about a nightmare that she is having about her running away from something. when she wakes up she realizes that she is in a hospital room. i can visualize the part where she wakes up in the hospital and when she is having the nightmare

i read that Calli met a baby deer. she escaped her father, and how her mom thinks that her dad is on a fishing trip and he took Calli into the woods. also i read that Petra followed Calli and Griff (her dad) into the woods and she lost them and has no idea where she is.
